When tile flooring is installed professionally and the grout is well installed it looks great and is tough enough to last for years. However, eventually tiled surfaces can start to look worn and the grouting will collect dirt and lose colour. This makes the tile and grout look older and duller with no sparkle.
If you want to clean and rejuvenate your tile and grout floors in North Tyneside, our expert restoration team in Ponteland can help. We have the knowledge and experience needed to deliver top quality results. Our team will get rid of stains and marks from the tiles, buff out scratches, and apply a protective sealant. The sealant will repel dirt and you will find the tile and grout easier to maintain once the clean is complete.
How to tell if your tile and grout needs cleaning or restoring in Newcastle & Jesmond
To increase the lifespan of your tile and grout floor, we recommend that you brush and dust your floors regularly. This prevents debris from being ground into the floor while you’re walking on it.
Choosing how frequently to have your tile and grout floor professionally serviced should be influenced by a variety of different factors, including how much foot traffic there is. Usually, floors in business premises need cleaning more regularly than those in homes. However, if you have children or pets, then you need to service the floors more often to stop the build-up of harmful bacteria.
Here are some standard problems with tile & grout floors that need to be looked out for. Our Ponteland team can assist you with a wide range of issues including:

● Uneven or sharp edges

Each TileMaster Ponteland team member has been trained to work on tile and grout floors. We use state-of-the-art floor cleaning machines and products to ensure we offer the best multi-stage cleaning process which is as follows:
● Step 1 – We will start with a survey where we will discuss seal and finish options.
● Step 2 – The next stage is to prepare the room and to move any furniture.
● Step 3 – Next, we will protect nearby surfaces and surrounding areas with low tack protection and masking tape.
● Step 4 – The team will sweep the floors to get rid of any abrasive grit and final dry soil.
● Step 5 – We apply our branded TileMaster cleaning solutions. These will strip any previous treatments and old sealer.
● Step 6 – Mechanical agitation and power scrubbing. We use TileMaster’s PH neutral floor cleaning solution.
● Step 7 – We will then wash the floors with fresh water and use a high-power vacuum. This vacuum removes all the dirt and extracts it in our vacuum tanks.
● Step 8 – The floor will be dried and buffed to get rid of any remaining marks.
● Step 9 – We then apply a commercial-grade impregnating sealer. This creates a barrier against dirt and debris.

FAQs
Scratches, scuff marks and damage on the floor can be removed if they are surface-level and in the dressing. Deeper scratches on the surface may require a more intensive process to use diamond pads to repair the scratch.
We are happy to give a ballpark figure from pictures and room sizes, as this can help customer budgeting on renovation projects if they are unsure whether to restore or replace, but ultimately we would need to carry out a full survey and demo before any work can take place.
Yes, we are always happy to call out and offer a free demo clean. Not only does this give you, the customer, a good indication of the results we can achieve, it also allows us to quote for the floor correctly, as we know the process required to achieve those results.
Normally the floor needs around 4 hours to dry. If we are only sealing the grout, the floor is fine for socks and slippers after 1 hour, but depending on the porosity of the tiles, room temperature and other factors, the floor can take longer to dry.
Every job is different, due to furniture, size of area and treatments required, but during the free survey and demo we will give you an estimate of how long it will take. By way of example, we recently completed a deep clean and grout seal of 40sqm in 1 day.
Every job is different but during the free survey we measure up, do a free demonstration clean to show the results we can achieve, and from this we send over a full proposal for you to browse at your own leisure. We do not give prices on the day or put you under any pressure for an answer there and then
Yes, the floor is fine to use once we leave on the first day. We try to leave protection on the floor in the main traffic way or around the kitchen island, in front of the sink or oven. We normally suggest just not to cook anything like spag bol or curry, however, because the sauce might end up splattering on the floor
All products used are within the manufacturer’s guidelines, and where applicable your flooring manufacture own brand products can be used.
