Safety Floors Clean and Seal in Frome
Safety floors have a slip-resistant feature which makes this type of floor a popular choice in different types of buildings and institutions. Over time these floors will start to look tired and the slip-resistant feature will also weaken, which makes professional servicing essential.
At TileMaster Frome we offer a specialised service that cleans and restores safety floors. Our team uses years of experience combined with top-of-the-range floor cleaning equipment to deliver the best results. Our cleaning service will remove all surface dirt while the power scrubbing deep cleans the pitts and texture of the floor. This stops dirt from building up so your non-slip floor is easier to maintain in the future.
How do you know that your safety floor needs cleaning or restoring?
To maintain a non-slip safety floor that lasts a long time and looks its best, most manufacturers recommend regular dusting and sweeping with semi-regular professional deep cleaning. You can decide on how often to book a professional cleaning service by looking at how much the floor is used and by how much footfall the floor receives. Generally, safety floors in commercial buildings with high foot traffic do need to be cleaned more frequently.
There are also several signs to look for when deciding on whether to book a professional clean for your safety floor. Your local TileMaster professional can help to address what issues the floor has and advise on how to resolve them. Here are some common problems that occur with a safety floor:
- Does the safety flooring look dull and faded so you want to restore that bright finish that it once had?
- Has the floor been laid unevenly and left with surface marks?
- Do the pitts and texture of the floor look discoloured because of dirt build-up?
- Does the floor feel more slippery due to day-to-day wear that has weakened the slip resistance?
- Does the floor look marked and dusty due to building work?
- Is mopping having little or no effect on the appearance of the floor?
- Do regular cleaning products make no difference when cleaning the floor?

TileMaster’s cleaning process for safety flooring:
The specially trained staff at TileMaster Frome will rejuvenate your safety floors by using top-of-the-range floor cleaning machines and products. At TileMaster Frome, our technicians use an advanced multi-step process for cleaning safety floors and the steps are as follows:
- Step 1 – The process starts with a survey of the floor area and we will discuss problem areas and finish options with you.
- Step 2 – We will then prepare the room by removing all furniture and any other obstacles.
- Step 3 – Next, we use our special low-tack masking and protection tapes. This is to ensure that surfaces and other nearby areas are protected.
- Step 4 – The next step involves giving the area a vacuum and sweep to remove any dirt and debris.
- Step 5 – Once everything is prepped we will then use our specialist cleaning products that will remove any previous treatments, old sealant, previous treatments, or factory dressings.
- Step 6 – Next, we will remove dirt and grime with mechanical agitation and a power scrub with PH-neutral floor cleaner.
- Step 7 – We will then rinse the floor and extract the dirty cleaning solution with a high-power vacuum. The dirty water and product go into our special on-board vacuum tanks.
- Step 8 – Once the floor is rinsed we will then dry the floor. It will then be buffed to remove any remaining surface marks to create a spotless floor.
- Step 9 – When the clean is complete we will let the customer walk around the floor to inspect it and we will complete the sign-off process. Our team also offers advice on daily and weekly care and you will receive 6 months worth of cleaner for free.

FAQs
Scratches, scuff marks and damage on the floor can be removed if they are surface-level and in the dressing. Deeper scratches on the surface may require a more intensive process to use diamond pads to repair the scratch.
We are happy to give a ballpark figure from pictures and room sizes, as this can help customer budgeting on renovation projects if they are unsure whether to restore or replace, but ultimately we would need to carry out a full survey and demo before any work can take place.
Yes, we are always happy to call out and offer a free demo clean. Not only does this give you, the customer, a good indication of the results we can achieve, it also allows us to quote for the floor correctly, as we know the process required to achieve those results.
Normally the floor needs around 4 hours to dry. If we are only sealing the grout, the floor is fine for socks and slippers after 1 hour, but depending on the porosity of the tiles, room temperature and other factors, the floor can take longer to dry.
Every job is different, due to furniture, size of area and treatments required but during the free survey and demo we will give you an estimate of time. For example, we recently completed a deep clean of a safety floor of 40sqm in 1 day
Every job is different but during the free survey we measure up, do a free demonstration clean to show the results we can achieve, and from this we send over a full proposal for you to browse at your own leisure. We do not give prices on the day or put you under any pressure for an answer there and then
Yes, the floor is fine to use once we leave on the first day. We try to leave protection on the floor in the main traffic way or around the kitchen island, in front of the sink or oven. We normally suggest just not to cook anything like spag bol or curry, however, because the sauce might end up splattering on the floor
All products used are within the manufacturer’s guidelines, and where applicable your flooring manufacture own brand products can be used.
